Tabby Dubbed an ‘Evil Genius’ for Masterminding Sneaky Scheme Against Sibling Cat

Experts agree that while cats can feel basic emotions like comfort, fear, grief, and even rage, they don’t experience complex, thought-driven feelings like jealousy or vengeance.

But one tabby named Milo might just prove them wrong.

Milo’s owner, Erika Longo, has shared plenty of his mischievous antics on TikTok and Instagram, but a video posted on May 25th truly cements his reputation as an “evil genius.”

In the clip, Longo explains that she hadn't seen her other cat, Poppy, for about an hour. Meanwhile, Milo was lounging on top of a blanket chest, looking completely innocent. Sensing something was off, Longo opened the chest—only to find Poppy trapped inside.

At first, she thought it was an accident. But, as she put it, “It’s never an accident with Milo.”

Apparently, this devious feline had concocted a master plan: open the chest, hop inside, lure Poppy in, and then jump out—slamming the lid shut behind him to trap his unsuspecting sibling.

Millions of viewers across social media agreed—Milo knew exactly what he was doing, and they love him for it.

“These are premeditated crimes. We need a whole documentary series on this sinister genius,” one person joked.

Another added, “Milo definitely lets his intrusive thoughts win… EVERY TIME.”

A 2021 Japanese study found that cats can use their imagination and plan ahead—something Milo seems to have mastered. Whether his antics are part of a grand, villainous scheme or just a dark sense of humor, we may never know.

One thing’s for sure, though—Milo’s having a blast. Poppy, on the other hand… not so much.
