Dad Records Baby’s Sounds for a Year, Then Remakes AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ Using Them

There’s nothing quite like the sounds a baby makes—especially when a dad takes those sounds and uses them to recreate one of the most iconic rock songs of all time. Enter Matt MacMillan, a dad and video editor, who spent an entire year capturing his baby’s noises to craft an epic version of AC/DC's “Thunderstruck.” The result? A jaw-droppingly adorable rendition that’s a must-watch.

The video, which has racked up over 6 million views, features Baby Ryan’s “vocals” pieced together from various clips of his baby sounds, skillfully edited to match the iconic song. MacMillan’s creativity is evident as he transforms everything from sneezes to coos into musical elements, including a sneeze turned into a cymbal crash—how cool is that?

What sets this video apart is that it’s not the result of pitch-shifting or autotuning. MacMillan manually edited each baby sound to fit the song’s notes. Despite not knowing the musical notes for “Thunderstruck,” and not being able to read music, MacMillan painstakingly figured out how to match his baby’s sounds to the song’s melody by playing it on the piano. The whole process took a year of recording and five months of editing, proving just how much dedication went into this fun project.

The result is more than just a viral video; it’s a priceless keepsake for Baby Ryan. Instead of a typical baby book, Ryan will have this unique and creative project to look back on in the future.

And it wasn’t MacMillan’s first time creating a baby cover. Previously, he used his other child, Baby Ella’s, sounds to recreate “Carol of the Bells,” another amazing and adorable cover that’s perfect for your holiday playlist.
