Not only did Buddy make an incredible recovery, but he also received over $100,000 in donations, the largest amount the PSPCA had ever received for a single animal. The funds were used to create the Buddy Fund, which helps care for abused animals, cover medical expenses, and support legal efforts to hold offenders accountable. Buddy’s attackers eventually turned themselves in.
Buddy seems to be more than happy to share his newfound wealth, as he's now dedicated to helping other animals in need. His popularity continues to grow, with the PSPCA selling “Save Every Buddy” T-shirts and stickers, raising over $30,000 in the process.
These days, Buddy is living the high life in foster care with Katie Venanzi, the vet who saved him. While the future of Buddy’s permanent home is still uncertain, Katie hopes to adopt him for good. Buddy has also formed a bond with his new brother, Teddy, and loves to relax in the spotlight, enjoying his life and bringing joy to his supporters.
