A group of geese rushes to help a woman after she falls to the ground

Geese often have a reputation for being aggressive, with many people sharing stories of being chased or bitten by these seemingly unfriendly birds. Anyone who's spent time near a lake or park may have experienced a goose encounter that wasn’t exactly pleasant.

This tough image of geese has led many to believe that they naturally dislike humans. However, a recent video posted by a woman running the TikTok account “The Dog Moms” has begun to challenge this perception. She decided to pretend to faint in front of a group of geese, only to be met with an unexpected response from them.

According to Varment Guard Wildlife Services, geese are known for their aggressive behavior because they are highly protective, territorial, and accustomed to human presence. Male geese, or ganders, take guarding their nests and partners seriously, often honking, flapping their wings, or even becoming physically aggressive if anyone gets too close.

Despite the usual perception of geese as aggressive creatures, the video shows the geese rushing to the woman’s side to check on her, demonstrating a side of these birds that many don't expect. One goose, resembling a character out of a nursery rhyme, even trips over a watermelon patch but keeps running to the woman, determined to make sure she was okay.

This particular goose, a Toulouse, is known for being more docile and enjoying human company. They aren't the ones you typically see chasing after people or flapping aggressively. The other geese in the video, which resemble the more typical geese people encounter by the water, also rush to her aid, as if trying to figure out how to help her, despite not having arms.

The frantic honking and confusion of the geese as they tried to assess the situation were both chaotic and heartwarming. After a moment of confusion, the woman reassured them she was fine, and the geese’s concerned behavior melted many viewers' hearts.

Commenters couldn’t get enough of the geese’s response, with one joking, “That first grey goose said ‘help is on the way, dear.’” Others noted how sweet the geese were, with one commenting, “Fluffy loves you the most. Was prepared to break a chicken ankle on a watermelon for you.”

It’s a heartwarming reminder that while geese may have a reputation for aggression, they can also be loyal and compassionate, showing that they may be a bit misunderstood.
