Dog Goes Wild With Excitement Upon Learning He’s Visiting Grandma and Grandpa

Kids aren’t the only ones who get thrilled about a trip to their grandparents' house—one dog is proving that “grandpawrents” can be just as fun and beloved.

In a viral TikTok video with nearly 30 million views, dog parents Skylar and Deko are nearing the end of a 20-hour road trip from Phoenix to Kansas City, Missouri. Their pup, Nosh, is calmly gazing out the front window when Skylar suddenly asks if he wants to go see “Safta and Boppa”—his affectionate nicknames for Grandma and Grandpa.

The reaction is instant. Nosh practically shouts, “Wait, what?! Grandma and Grandpa?! Are you serious?! OMG, I can’t handle this excitement!!!”—except it all comes out as squeals, whimpers, and sneezy woofs of pure joy.

Seriously, what did Safta and Boppa do to deserve this kind of over-the-top enthusiasm?

“The other video got a ‘sensitive content warning’ because of the end… but why?? 😂 #repost #dogsoftiktok #blueheeler #acd #cattledog”

And that dramatic belly flop for a Grandpa belly rub? Plus the “I’m so excited I gotta pee” moment? Absolutely priceless.

According to Skylar, this isn’t a one-time thing. “He always reacts like this to his grandparents,” she told Newsweek, “whether it’s been months or just a few hours since he last saw them.”

To avoid five hours of excited squealing, they wisely waited until they were just five minutes away to tell Nosh where they were headed. Even then, he spent the entire last stretch of the drive beside himself with excitement.

In case you’re wondering, Nosh is an Australian Cattle Dog, also known as a Blue Heeler (yes, like a real-life Bluey). And if you can’t get enough of his over-the-top love for Grandma and Grandpa, there are plenty more videos of his adorable reunions on Skylar’s TikTok channel.
