A video making the rounds online has people cracking up over the over-the-top dramatics of a pet flying squirrel. There’s no narration, no context—just a squirrel repeatedly faking its own death… by broom.
Yes, you read that right. Death by broom. And from the looks of it, this little mastermind came up with the idea all on its own, staging multiple crime scenes for maximum dramatic effect.
You really have to see it to believe it.
Twitter user @Birrellebee summed it up perfectly: “This squirrel faked his own death and created a whole crime scene… for attention. I think I'm in love.”
Was it really just for attention? Some other mysterious squirrel agenda? No one knows. But so far, no one has come up with a more logical explanation.
Watch the Performance of a Lifetime:
While some viewers have raised concerns about a flying squirrel living indoors, we don’t know the full story. It could have been rescued, unable to survive in the wild, or just a particularly theatrical houseguest.
What we do know is that this tiny rodent deserves an Oscar. The graceful somersault into position. The precise broomstick placement across its neck. The subtle peeks to make sure its audience is watching. The multiple readjustments to perfect the illusion of a tragic demise.
Was that really its goal? Who knows. But if this was an acting audition, it absolutely nailed it.
And, of course, the internet did not disappoint in the comments:
“It’s an insurance scam.” – @GreigBeck
Honestly, wouldn’t be surprised.
