In a harrowing incident near the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in India, a mother's instinctive bravery saved her 15-month-old toddler from a tiger attack. Archana Choudhary, 25, was with her son Raviraj in a field when a tiger emerged from the bushes and attacked the infant.
The tiger had grabbed the baby's head and was attempting to drag him away when Archana sprang into action. She engaged in a fierce struggle with the tiger, using her bare hands to protect her child. Her husband, Bhola, later recounted that Archana chased the tiger for about 5 meters, striking it repeatedly to save her son.
Archana's screams alerted nearby villagers, who rushed to the scene with sticks and successfully drove the tiger back into the forest. Both mother and child sustained injuries in the attack. Archana suffered a punctured lung and deep wounds on her body, while her son had head injuries.
